I am not a pin cushion
I am not a pin cushion
Though I’m soft
and pretty
Yes
A malleable pacifist
I may be…
My core is not filled
with stuffing
For you to sink
your blunt end
Into
Thanks to Sara Fryd for the inspiration from her poem,
An Only Daughter, published in What if…only one child remained ?
Yes! Love this shout out of truth!
(gads, that makes three comments to you in one day… not stalking you or anything. Blush. I have been on the computer the last few hours creating a new blog and doing some research… I’m refocusing my energy, changing things up, and it feels good! Come on by when you have a chance. It’s pretty sparse right now, but will build up over time…) 🙂

Lol ! Happy to be hearing from you Belle ! I like your new blog very much ! It’s an addictive hobby isn’t it ? Sometimes I feel like my fingers are permanently attached to these keys and my eyebaolls fixed to the screen ! Much of my work involves reporting via the computer, I study part time …via the computer and I blog ! Just spent a day in the country side with no computer access and ended up checking my mail via phone !!!! I scare myself !

I thought this was about acupuncture. Now I wonder if it’s something more. O.o

Mmm…not quite acupuncture ! Acupuncture of the heart maybe ??? But thanks for stopping by and hope I’ve set your thoughts in motion somewhat ?

I like your way of telling
someone off, Colleen.
You told it like it is, and
gave ’em a piece of your mind
in such a warm and cozy fashion.
Great line, that last one!
I’m glad your not stuck-up. Wink!

Thank you UT. I am really grateful for the inspirational words of Sara Fryd “I am not a pincushion”…that again have provided another solid affirmation for me to adopt !

to be a pincushion in today’s crazy world.
September 30, 2009 at 4:09 pm
Hmm….reassuring we can choose not to be isn’t it ?

i like your metaphor here. although some things that are soft inside are not all bad or necessary for poking blunt objects into. sometimes its just that indefinable charm of weakness… that makes a person want to hold you. m

Hi Charles…thanks for your contribution. I like to see the softness as a strength on the whole, but yes the shadow side of that softness can be weakness. Perhaps what’s needed is a protective shell capable of greater discernment regarding the intentions of other’s. I’m working on it !

Well where have I been for 4 days? Thank you for the shout out. No you are definitely no longer a pin cushion! Good riddens of all those pins. I had no idea you live in such stunning surroundings. Public television had a show on alligators that live in the river in Northern Queensland and I kept waving at the TV “Hello Colleen.”

Hello ! Yes it is a diverse wilderness that surrounds us…from reef to rainforest to outback ! Well Chloe and I went to the Sister Cities photography exhibition on Sunday and saw photos of the big “Welcome to Scotsdale” cowboy sign, a “trolley” or as we would say a “tram” !, the dog park and a lovely peaceful looking lake. We joked about seeing if we could spot “Sara” in any of the photos !!! The world can be such an intimate place …if you choose it to be. It’s such a tragedy that prejudice and hate gets in the way so often.
