My Hopes, Memories and Dreams

More than Words

lettersWords spewed forth

Carelessly

Selfishly

A sausage string

of

consonants and vowels

Syllables ring

In the ears of a child

Decoding

Fragmenting…

…Syntax error alert !

Naive cognition fails to compute

Yet

Intentions seep

From veiled meanings

Insidiously

Irreparably

Crafting the scar-tissue

Around the Heart

of

Self

Words spewed forth

Cutting

Wounding

Enmeshed in a  tangle of lesions

Clotting pathways

To

the Soul

  1. My eyes are filling with tears just a couple of hours later. It’s a bloody chorus going round the world. How lucky your daughters. From such Mothers come generations of women that stand strong and tall. Daughters who tell the truth with their heads held high and their shoulders back! Huge!!!

  2. It’s also my intention to heal that scar tissue around the heart… you spoke of this so eloquently.

As a mother also (to an almost 4 year old son) share your desire to be a force of light…

Thanks again, Colleen for such an insightful post.

  3. It is sad, Colleen, and you’ve pointed
out just why it is wrong and unjust.
Some people don’t know when to
shut up, and they seem to get a kick
out of shaming and blaming another.

Scars protect, but they also divide,
    Some wounds never completely heal.
God bless you on your journey towards
healing the remaining sore spots within.

  4. Thank you Sara, Belle and UT.

I am so proud to have broken the cycle….a feat that some people sadly never manage to accomplish, thus perpetuating the generational dysfunction.
